About Juliette Medder

My Philosophy: Accompanying Your Journey

I see being a counsellor as a way of accompanying people as they explore their emotions and feelings. My intention is to offer a down-to-earth and friendly approach, creating an environment where you feel heard, valued, and respected.

While I provide compassionate and attentive listening, I can also be compassionately challenging if this is what someone wants. This means that together, we won't just look at the surface; we will explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives and a deeper understanding of yourself.

'Juliette seems to have a warm empathy and understanding that is helping me through my tangled problems.'

How I work

Exploring the Present & Potentially the past

To get a sense of what is happening for you consciously in the present, with the option of also working with hidden issues to examine patterns and unresolved past conflicts.

Parts Work & Inner Child:

These techniques help us understand the different 'parts' of your personality and can address unresolved issues from earlier in our lives (potentially from childhood).

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

I incorporate CBT elements to help you identify negative, unhelpful thought patterns that may be keeping you stuck; becoming more familiar with your thought patterns and the emotions and physical sensations these thoughts provoke, can help to slow down the automatic behavioural responses.

Mindfulness & Grounding

In moments of overwhelm, simple grounding and mindfulness exercises can be very beneficial in regaining a sense of calm.

Creative Springboards

I offer the optional use of paper, pens, pencils, chalk pastels, clay and Sand Tray as a way to express what might be difficult to vocalize through traditional talking therapy alone.
